Homa Games Releases AI-Powered Game Idea Generator

Developers can use the artificial intelligence to help flesh out existing game ideas

French games tech company Homa Games has released its new Game Idea Generator. The AI-powered idea generator utilises Homa’s data pipeline to generate game ideas that will fit the meta of the current play stores. Additionally, each idea generated includes currently successful gaming trends.

Homa Games describes the Game Idea Generator as a brainstorming companion. The generative AI, which was created during the company’s first internal GenAI Hackathon, is currently available to all Homa Lab users.

“Coming up with game ideas is hard. But coming up with ideas that fit into the current market, tap into audiences, leverage data, and resonate with the current trends in art and science. And even with an idea in mind, defining the core mechanics and loops and finding reference images is often also complex and time-consuming,” states Homa Games in a recent blog post.

Game Idea Generator offers idea variations

Users begin by selecting a prompt. Creators can ask the AI to generate a game idea that fits a specific theme or genre. Additionally, users can select an existing game and receive ideas inspired by it, or allow the generative AI to surprise them with a random data-backed idea.

Beyond generating new game ideas featuring popular mechanics and themes, Homa’s game idea generator includes reference images to help creators visualise the potential game. Homa promises that each user will receive various game idea variations that align with current trends. In addition to generating brand-new ideas, developers can use the AI to help them flesh out their own game ideas.

Generative AI In Game Design

AI is already being used to aid in the development of video games. Assassin’s Creed developer Ubisoft’s Ghostwriter AI generates rough drafts of NPC barks to speed up the process. Likewise, Buildbox launched StoryGames.AI, a tool to help amateur game developers create visual novel games. The NFT Gaming company hired a team to develop AI games in May.
