Christmas is approaching and it can only mean one thing; that’s right, ’tis the season of rampant destruction and mechanised mayhem as Wargaming announces the 2024 Holiday Ops for the World of Tanks franchise. Players across PC, console and mobile will have a lot to sink their teeth into as all three titles have their own events.
Vinnie Jones is taking a break from being Santa’s enforcer to be this year’s celebrity ambassador, trading the naughty list for the battlefield. He will be heavily featured during the 2024 Holiday Ops starting today (December 1st), with themed rewards and his own unit to recruit in most versions.
Until December 20th, World of Tanks Blitz will host a 10-stage quest with unique collectables, avatars and a profile background all designed after the famed English footballer and actor. You could even be in with a chance to win a Cobra tank with a legendary camouflage thanks to the holiday draw, which would be a great place to show off your new Final Argument attachment from the tenth quest stage.
Mobile players look away now, as the next two events have a little longer in the limelight, lasting until January 8th. Console and PC players will also be able to recruit Vinnie Jones himself for their tank crews, complete with special voice lines when supporting tanks in battles.
World of Tanks Modern Armor will have two avenues of rewards to follow with the individual Earn Challenge and Holiday Op Community Event. Each of these will offer a host of themed cosmetics, Boosters, Premium Time, and most importantly the heavy tank Charlemagne. You can also grab the Old Reliable premium tank, as well as 2D and 3D commanders featuring Vinnie Jones voiceovers.
Finally, the headliner, World of Tanks. The Holiday Village will open its doors to players, with a brand-new Premium Czechoslovakian light tank Pzw.39 waiting for anyone who enters. Roll your new ride to the Headquarters and Vinnie Jones will be handing out special missions and assignments.
Completing these will reward Vinnie flavoured rewards like three 2D styles, decals and a special Old Reliable skin for the Cobra Tank. Prime Gaming members will get some extra goodies, including two decals, a medal, and the special Paradox 2D style. Finally, Steam players will get a 2D decal.
