Video game developer GameMill Entertainment and AMC have revealed that The Walking Dead: Destinies is launching digitally on PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on November 17th .
The release date was shown in a brand-new gameplay video showing integral parts of the game where players can alter the events of the original The Walking Dead story. Will you pick Rick or Shane to lead the group? Will you make the Governor your enemy, or bring him on your side? The choice is yours in Destinies.
In this action-adventure game, players will start their adventure as Rick Grimes, just like in the popular TV series. He wakes up alone in a hospital surrounded by walkers. Players must team up with allies and fight through the zombie apocalypse in famous locations from the TV show including Atlanta, the Greene farm, the prison and Woodbury.
Change the story
In critical moments where players will have to make choices, these decisions will always influence the future of the group of characters from the show. Whether they are heroes or villains, alive or dead. The game gives players the freedom to follow the show’s story or create their journey in the apocalyptic world.
Aside from the option for players to make their own choices, the game also has a variety of melee and ranged weapons that they can use to slash and bash zombies including crossbows, katanas and Negan’s infamous baseball bat named Lucille.
Players can also assemble a roster from over 12 of the show’s most iconic characters such as Rick, Shane, Michonne, Carol, Daryl and many others. Just like the series, characters will be forced to manage resources and scavenge for weapons and other important items to keep themselves alive against enemies and walkers.
Developed by Flux Games, The Walking Dead: Destinies will be available on November 17th at £39.99. Physical editions of the game will be available on December 1st for PlayStation and Xbox, and January 26th for Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders are also available.
