French luxury goods company LVMH has partnered with Fortnight creator Epic Games and Unreal Engine to transform the group’s creative pipeline and bring customers new types of immersive product discovery experiences.
The strategic partnership will allow LVMH and its Maisons to further utilise Epic’s 3D creation tools to provide experiences such as virtual fitting rooms, 360 product carousels, fashion shows, AR and more.
These tools include Unreal Engine, Real Capture, Twinmotion and MetaHuman technology, all of which will collectively play a role in helping LVMH unlock growth opportunities. LVMH and its Maisons continue to update their assets and heritage, a similar ethos that guides the collaboration with Epic.
Transforming customer experience
Toni Belloni, LVMH group managing director said, “The partnership with Epic Games will accelerate our expertise in 3D tools and ecosystems, from the creation of new collections to ad campaigns and to our Maisons’ websites. We will also engage more effectively with young generations who are very much at ease with these codes and uses.”
LVMH could leverage Epic’s expertise in enriching the experiences proposed to its customers in virtual worlds. The company aims to tighten its alignment with the Group’s core strengths in the real world. The partnership with Epic will also expand the expertise of LVMH’s teams by reflecting the priority that the group places on nurturing digital acculturation.
Bill Clifford, VP, Unreal Engine at Epic Games said, “With this partnership, we will work with LVMH’s designers to transform physical and digital product creation using Epic’s suite of advanced creator tools.
“We are excited to accelerate the Group’s adoption of Unreal Engine, Reality Capture, Twinmotion and MetaHuman technology, and help LVMH’s global brands engage with customers through immersive digital experiences.”
