EA Sports And Nike Virtual Studios Partner To Enhance Virtual Sports Experiences

The companies plan to include select .SWOOSH virtual creations in future games

EA Sports and Nike Virtual Studios are partnering with the goal of enhancing virtual sports experiences around the globe. The companies also aim to develop ways to personalise virtual sports experiences.

“Nike and EA Sports share a commitment to innovation, creativity, and excellence, and we are thrilled to partner with them,” says Ron Faris, GM of Nike Virtual Studios. “This partnership will allow us to unlock some incredible new experiences for our .SWOOSH community and the massive EA Sports fan base.”

The partnership joins two of the most prominent names in sports and entertainment. This will allow EA Sports fans and .SWOOSH members to virtually express themselves and their style in new ways. Together the companies will create new immersive experiences while also bringing new levels of customization to EA Sport’s ecosystem.

“All of us at EA Sports are focused on leading the next evolution in sports fandom, and this new collaboration with our longtime partners at Nike sits directly at the intersection of innovation, sport, and culture,” states Andrea Hopelain, SVP of Brand for EA Sports & Racing. “Working with .SWOOSH, we’ll bring creativity and self-expression to the forefront for fans as they connect, compete and share their love for sport.”

The companies plan to include select .SWOOSH virtual creations in future EA Sports games. Their inclusion will give players even more ways to express themselves. Currently, .SWOOSH is in closed beta. However, those interested can register to join at welcome.swoosh.nike.

Nike and the Metaverse

Nike is already making a name for itself in Web3. Nikeland, the company’s metaverse presence on Roblox, has already seen over six million visitors. Likewise, some of Nike and RTFKT’s CryptoKicks NFT sold for over 100,000 USD. Last year, the iconic athletic company was the highest-grossing brand in the metaverse fashion sector. The company made $185 million In NFT sales in 2022.
