Roblox Meets Grand Theft Auto V In Airland World

New open-world sandbox platform allows for the creation of large-scale multiplayer games in an AI-generated digital twin of Earth

Move over Roblox, a new game studio aiming to empower modders, is announcing its game creation platform, Airland World. The upcoming platform will open in early access this year, with a full release set for 2024.

Airland World will offer creators a suite of tools that will allow them to build games within the platform. The platform features a fully customisable world complete with realistic vehicles and a variety of weapons. It also features other modes of transportation, such as skydiving and swimming. With its realistic graphics and variety of weapons and vehicles, Airland World looks like a cross between Roblox and Grand Theft Auto V.

“As an experienced modder, it’s important to me that my fellow creators are seen, heard, and offered the tools that they need to showcase their talent,” says Airland Studios CEO Fred Naar. “I also feel passionately that creators are given the opportunity to make money from their work, as they are so often restricted from doing so despite how much they contribute to communities and games.”

Lets Creators Build Multiplayer Games

The platform lets creators build both cooperative and competitive games. Additionally, developers can create large-scale multiplayer games and choose how many players can compete against each other.

Upon its official release, Airland World will feature a procedural AI-generated digital twin of Earth. To create the replica of the planet, Airland Studios is partnering with global simulation environment developer WildRealm.

Additionally, creators will be able to share their games for free or monetise them. Creators can even export the games they create within the platform to third-party storefronts. Alternatively, Airland Studios will also have a dedicated store where creators can sell their creations.

Airland Studios will also feature Helicopter Rescue Team, a game the studio built using the upcoming platform’s tools.
