Animoca Brands is well known for its investments in Web3-based projects and its growing metaverse title, The Sandbox. The new partnership with Sviper will add development, engineering and creative talent to The Sandbox’s global team.
The team aims to build more engaging and fun experiences for users, focusing on social features, new multiplayer gameplay options and new Game Maker possibilities for creators.
The leadership team, led by CEO Ole Schaper and CPO Mark Buchholz, has over 25 years of experience working with popular mobile, PC and multiplayer gaming brands. Sviper has been collaborating with The Sandbox for over a year and is integrated into the platform’s ecosystem, making for a seamless transition. The Sviper team, based in Hamburg is 40 members strong and currently seeking new hires.

The Sandbox has created a space that is part virtual real estate and part amusement park. The title embraces the concept of the metaverse and intends to keep creating a digital space where worlds come together. We have seen various events within The Sandbox, such as a recent Valentine’s celebration hosted by Paris Hilton. The Sandbox hopes to inspire and empower its players to create their own experiences using original and well-known characters or worlds.
