Bandai Namco Filmworks And Atlas V Partner For VR Interactive Movie ‘Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom’

Both companies are bringing a new virtual reality and narrative experience to Gundam fans around the world

Production company Bandai Namco Filmworks has partnered with immersive studio Atlas V to announce their newest creation, ‘Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom’, a virtual reality narrative interactive experience set in the mecha world of Gundam. 

Both companies used the Anime NYC event to make the announcement, marking the project’s first public reveal. The VR experience will invite fans to immerse themselves in the rich Gundam universe that leverages the power of VR to create a unique and compelling adventure. 

Pierre Zandrowicz, co-founder of Atlas V says, “This is not a game, nor is it just a narrative experience—it’s an immersive adventure that leverages the best of both worlds. The future of interactive anime in VR is coming.” Fans can immerse themselves in this anime, providing them with a new perspective on the Gundam universe. With impressive visuals and interactive elements, they’ll experience the popular saga in a new way.  

A new experience 

“We’re taking a unique approach – creating an interactive anime that brings the Gundam universe to life in an unparalleled way. It’s a narrative journey, inviting you to step inside the story like never before,” said Kiichiro Inoue, deputy general manager at Bandai Namco Filmworks. 

After its first public reveal, the companies provided fans with a title reveal teaser which showcased a glimpse of what they can anticipate from this VR interactive movie (see above). ‘Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom’ will also be featured at the Gundam Fan e-Festival from tomorrow, November 23rd, where fans can look forward to another unveiling.

The film’s official website writes: “Through new experiences of the Gundam world in VR, we will bring the appeal of Gundam to fans around the world.”
