It seems like generative AI can create almost anything. Not only can generative AI create striking imagery, it can also aid in game development and can even generate code. And nows it turns out AI can also create fragrances.
Now your home can smell just like a horse barn, thanks to online horse game Star Stable’s new Horse scented candle. The game partnered with its players and the Swedish equestrian elite to create the limited-edition scented candle. A panel of equestrian experts met in a lab in Stockholm’s Old Town, where they used AI to craft the scent.
“Get ready to immerse yourself in the captivating aroma of ‘Horse,’ the scented candle that encapsulates the spirit of Star Stable and a love for all things equestrian,” states the press release.
Smells like soil and manure
Horse blends the scent of soil with sweet hay and horse manure. The scent also features hints of barn life and crisp autumn apples. Horse enthusiasts can saddle up and snag one of these candles on Lisen Bratt Fredricson’s Get The Gallop website.
Panel member Lisen Bratt Fredricson is one of Sweden’s most notable equestrians, having competed in numerous competitions. Her horse, All In, is featured in Star Stable. Other panel members include Swedish international dressage rider Emilia Bergåkra and passionate Star Stable player Klara Hammarström.
“This is a really fun idea! After spending more or less my whole life around horses, I know how nice and special the joy of horses can smell. It is so interesting to see what AI technology can do to help us find that scent,” says Bratt Fredricson.
The AI technology used to create the scent came from No Ordinary Scent. According to CEO Sandra Kinnmark, images and emotions shared by Star Stable players were analysed by AI to develop a scent that embodies the joy and friendship associated with horses.
