Bethesda’s new sci-fi RPG Starfield lets players build and modify their own spaceship. And some players have already recreated famous ships from science fiction series in the game.
In Starfield, players traverse space in their own ship, exploring planets, completing quests, battling enemies and meeting interesting characters. Bethesda is best known for creating games for the Fallout and The Elder Scrolls franchises. However, Starfield marks the studio’s first time developing an original IP in 25 years.
Starfield officially launched on September 6th and players have already shared their impressive ship designs. Several Star Wars ships have already been replicated in the game, including the Falcon and X-wings. Creators have also shared tutorials on how to build these iconic ships.
Starfield Player Recreates the Normandy from Mass Effect
Another user has brought Mass Effect’s Normandy to Starfield. The Pelican from Halo has also been recreated by players, as has Futurama’s Planet Express. Reddit user SP7R shared their replica of the Planet Express on a Starfield subreddit earlier this week. “I’m addicted to building ships. Here’s the Planet Express,” wrote SP7R in the post.
Other players are sharing their original ship designs, like a ship that consists of four corners and fools the game’s ship battle AI. Another creative player has built a ship resembling a duck. Considering Starfield was only released a few days ago, there’s no doubt players will continue to create and share their ingenious ship designs.
The possibilities are endless with UGC
Some believe UGC or user-generated content is the future of gaming and it’s hard to deny considering all the attention these ships are receiving. UGC is already vastly popular on platforms like Roblox. Earlier this year, Roblox announced that creators can now sell their UGC as Limiteds. In addition, the upcoming game Club Koala will allow players to create their own games and worlds.
