Following recent success on the big screen, Barbie is making her Nintendo Switch debut. Launching October 27th, Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures lets players explore and decorate Barbie’s iconic dreamhouse. Players can cook gourmet meals in Barbie’s kitchen and even grow their own fruits and vegetables to use as ingredients.
Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures, which is rated E, lets players customise Barbie’s dreamhouse with various wallpapers and décor items. Additionally, the game lets users host extravagant pool parties and dress Barbie up in stylish outfits. Players can tailor Barbie’s outfits and hairstyles to suit any occasion.
“Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures invites players into the iconic doll’s inspiring dreamhouse, where they’ll form friendships with Barbie and her fun-loving friends and family at her iconic Malibu home. There is no shortage of fun in this pink paradise, dressing up in stylish outfits and lounging by the pool on a hot summer’s day.”
Hang out with Ken and Skipper
Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures features Barbie as well as her friends, including Ken, Daisy and Renee. In the game, players can interact with and befriend Barbie’s various friends and family members. Daisy is a talented DJ, while Renee is a hardcore sports fan. Players will also interact with Barbie’s sisters, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea. Even Barbie’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roberts, will make an appearance.
A new Barbie game couldn’t have come at a better time, with the Barbie movie being such an overwhelming success in theatres. The film features a perfectly cast Margo Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gossling as Ken. Barbie has already grossed over $1 billion and is still playing in theaters.
This is far from the first Barbie video game. The 1996 title Barbie Fashion Designer was recently added to The Strong National Museum of Play’s World Video Game Hall of Fame.
The game retails for $39.99 and is currently available for pre-order at major retailers.
