Discover the history of Chicken McNuggets

Brought to life in vibrant hues, McNugget Land features a variety of activities for users to participate in. Players will join Coach McNugget and other anthropomorphised chicken nuggets as they explore the virtual location and partake in mini-games.

Users are free to take selfies for social media and explore a virtual art gallery covering the 40-year history of the fast-food chain’s iconic chicken nugget. Additionally, players can serve virtual customers nuggets.

“We are pleased that McDonald’s Hong Kong has chosen The Sandbox as a platform to celebrate the 40th anniversary of McNuggets, allowing users around the world to learn more about the famous Chicken McNuggets by entering the metaverse,” says The Sandbox co-founder and COO Sebastien Borget. “The Hong Kong-based metaverse studio Pangu by Kenal has done a fantastic job of bringing the Chicken McNuggets characters to life in an interactive way.”

Participants can also earn a variety of physical and digital rewards. Global participants can win mystery boxes and earn a share of a 100,000 SAND shared prize pool. The experience is also offering exclusive rewards to users in Hong Kong. These include McNuggets coupons or free Chicken McNuggets for a year.

“McDonald’s Hong Kong has understood the importance of experimenting with the potential of the metaverse to effectively drive participation in a gamified way. We look forward to future online promotions utilising the potential of Web3 and true digital ownership in The Sandbox,” Borget adds.
