Netflix’s highly anticipated stop-motion series Pokémon Concierge was first unveiled in February and is now scheduled to release in December 2023. Alongside the reveal is an enticing sneak peek featuring Psyduck, Lampent and introducing Haru, the Pokémon resort’s newest concierge.
The short video provides limited details about the show’s storyline, still keeping much under wraps. However, it hints at the partnership between Haru and Psyduck as they work the reception desk at the tropical resort.
Fans were treated to a new video showcasing actress Rena Nōnen (also known as Non) on the set, offering more insights into her character, Haru, and her role in the series.
Meet new characters
Non was captured on camera while recording her dialogue, and her facial expressions served as references for the character of Haru. The actress expressed her excitement about the experience, stating, “It was really exciting for me because it’s the first time my body language was also recorded during voice acting.”
“Even if many things go wrong and [Haru] feels upset, Pokémon will always be there for her. I felt it would be wonderful to have Pokémon with me,” added Non.
Pokémon Concierge is a new original story created in collaboration with Dwarf Animation Studio, a renowned animation company known for their work on popular titles such as Monsters at Work, Trash Truck and many others.
The forthcoming series also marks one of the first new Pokémon TV shows to emerge since the conclusion of Ash Ketchum’s iconic journey in the Pokémon anime. Following this, fans can look forward to Pokémon Horizons, a series featuring fresh characters, including the charismatic Captain Pikachu.
