British indie rock band Breezer grew tired of waiting for Oasis to reunite, so they used AI to create a new album in Oasis’s style.
“We’re bored of waiting for Oasis to reform, so we’ve got an AI-modeled Liam Gallagher (inspired by @JekSpek) to step in and help out,” Breezer says on YouTube. “It seemed to be a perfect match, and we love how some of these have turned out. We have a 2nd bunch of songs to come if you want to hear more, please let us know in the comments. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed convincing our mates these are actually Oasis lost tunes, and recommend you try the same too.”
An Alternate Reality Concept Album
Breezer called the album Aisis, combining AI with Oasis. The album includes eight tracks that Breezer wrote and recorded. Each track features AI vocals that sound similar to Oasis’ lead singer Liam Gallagher. Specifically, Breezer used AI to replace the original singer’s tone and cadence to match the Oasis singer’s voice.
The album includes eight tracks: Out of My Mind, Time, Alright, Forever, Bittersweet, Coming of Age, Alive and Tonight. Breezer developed the album during quarantine in 2021. The band describes Aisis as an, “alternate reality concept album.”
Since the album’s release, fans have taken to Twitter to ask Liam Gallagher if he has listened to it. “Not the album, heard a tune,” Liam Tweeted in response. “It’s better than all the other snizzle out there.”
Gallagher went on to tell another fan he believes Aisis is “Mad as fuck.” The AI album has amassed over 405,000 views since being uploaded on April 14th, 2023.
AI Music
Aisis isn’t the first time AI vocals have been used. Capitol Music Group signed an AI Rapper last year, though he was quickly dropped due to the use of gross stereotypes. Meanwhile, Google is developing MusicLM, a music-generating AI.
