Famous model Karlie Kloss is partnering with Roblox on a new location. Fashion Klossette is a fashion design destination that extends the vision of Kloss’s previous pop-up store in Roblox.
“I feel like I’ve been shouting from the rooftops about digital fashion to anybody who would listen for the longest time, and nobody really got it. Now, I finally feel like we have something tangible to show what the heck we’re talking about,” Kloss told Vogue Business.
Fashion Klossette is held within a two-story building that resembles Grand Palais, a well-known fashion venue in Paris. Inside Kloss’s new Roblox location, users can customise their avatars. Additionally, users can give their avatars fashionable new attire by layering apparel within Roblox’s clothing catalogue. Users can even adjust the texture and colour of fashion pieces, which is a first for Roblox.
“I have never seen something this customisable and unique — and people have a hunger for that kind of experience,” says Roblox creator Rush Bogin, who helped Kloss design the location.
Pose for Photoshoots
After customising their avatar, players can pose for photoshoots and walk the runway. Users can wear their style creations throughout the experience but must purchase them to access them outside Fashion Klossetts. However, for now, only the original clothing pieces, before tweaking the color and texture, are available for purchase.
Kloss aims to democratise the ability to access the fashion industry through Fashion Klossette. Additionally, the model hopes the new Roblox fashion destination will become one of the platform’s top fashion destinations. The supermodel is planning live virtual events within Fashion Klossette that coincide with physical world fashion events.
“Coming from 15 years in fashion, it has really given me a unique understanding of how much untapped potential there still is at the intersection of fashion and technology, and if you have more people equipped with technical skills, they can identify problems and solve or build businesses around creating creative solutions,” she says.
