Zack Snyder’s Upcoming Rebel Moon Film Goes Transmedia With An RPG Game

DCU director says the game, ‘Is just literally insane, and so immersive and so intense and so huge’

Film director Zack Snyder who is famous for directing some of the most acclaimed movies such as 300, Dawn of the Dead, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League has announced that his upcoming Netflix film Rebel Moon will be getting an RPG game as well.

The Sucker Punch director appeared as a guest on The Nerd Queens podcast where he revealed that he’s helping with the development of the game which is based on the Netflix film.

“The one thing that I’m having a really good time with – and I don’t really know if I’m supposed to talk about it – is this RPG that we’re doing that is just literally insane, and so immersive and so intense and so huge,” said Snyder.

During the podcast, it was obvious the director wanted to give out more information on the RPG game but held back on them to avoid giving out sensitive information.

“There’s more coming, but all I’ll say is that it was pitched to me – because I’ve always wanted to do an RPG – like, ‘Well, we could do it at this scale, or we could do it at ridiculous scale’,” said Snyder.

Snyder also suggested that the RPG game should be done at a ridiculous scale. The Man of Steel director also acknowledged that although there’s a lot of work to do in order to make it happen, but he’s “happy to do it” and is ready to “go all the way.”

In most cases, video games are usually adapted into live-action movies or TV shows but in the case of Rebel Moon, the RPG game will be an adaptation of the Netflix film and will take some time before it is released.

Speaking on The Nerd Queens podcast, Snyder said that the game would offer players, “A completely realised universe and it’s really going to be fun,” and went on to change the subject after saying he’s not supposed to talk about it.

Rebel Moon is being helmed by Snyder and will star Sofia Boutella, Djimon Hounsou and Ed Skrein and will premiere exclusively on Netflix come December 22nd.

After teasing a rather unexpected Darkseid reveal on Twitter a few days ago, it’s starting to look like Snyder is getting set to work on a project of his own for the new DCU that’s being led by James Gunn and Peter Safran.
