The game extends on Wang and Fendi’s initial collaboration, in which they introduced a cute virtual panda looking fabulous in the brand’s designer threads. The Fendidi playground is an immersive experience where users play as panda avatars Fendino and Fendina. The game is filled with iconic accessories including the brand’s famous Baguette handbag, and has been described as a chance for younger shoppers to create interacting experiences in both the digital and physical spheres.
The game itself is pretty basic, with on-screen joystick controls and levels that require you to collect the above-mentioned Baguette handbags whilst dodging obstacles such as snowballs and what I presumed to be lava pits, in order to get coins to spend on goodies. However gameplay is clearly not the main focus here.
The collaboration also introduces new Fendidi stickers with the latest designs available on global messaging platforms such as Line, Kakao and WeChat. Such integration across apps serves to further integrate the brand into the everyday lives of users, a very smart marketing strategy that we are seeing more and more.
