Video game studio Rebel Wolves, which was created back in February by former members of CD Projekt RED has announced it has now secured investment from NetEase Games.
The strategic investment has seen NetEase acquire a minority stake in the studio. However, Rebel Wolves will remain independent and maintain full creative control and ownership of its intellectual property. The studio has built years of experience by helping to co-create titles such as The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. The team is currently working on a AAA IP story-driven RPG saga with dark fantasy themes and a keen focus on storytelling and player choice.
Creating the next generation of RPGs
Co-founder, CEO, and game director at Rebel Wolves, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz commented on the investment saying, “We’re delighted to welcome NetEase Games as our new shareholder and partner. Having one of the leading global game companies get behind our vision is a great confidence boost and validation for the entire team at Rebel Wolves. Funding provided by NetEase was the last missing piece needed to go full throttle. With resources available to build a world-class AAA game, we can now focus on what matters most: development.”
