Decentraland’s third annual Metaverse Art Week is underway and you can be a part of the event ending this Sunday, August 28th.
Just as patterns, formulas and sequences make up the natural world, code is elemental in a virtual world like Decentraland. This year’s Metaverse Art Week 2022 theme is The World is Made of Code and was inspired by the 2022 Venice Biennale Arte.
Decentraland Foundation’s creative director, Sam Hamilton commented, “Metaverse Art Week 2022 is coming at a pivotal moment for the larger adoption of Web3 technology and decisions about our digital reality. We believe that the future of the internet should be built by decentralised communities who do not seek to profit off of user data, imagination, or creativity. This year’s Art Week will be a love letter to what the next generation of artists are doing in the metaverse.”
Metaverse Art Week 2022 will take a close look at how humans are hardwired to evoke an emotional response when presented with art that’s inspired by nature’s mathematical designs. The event will also explore how the highly talked-about metaverse technology is exceeding the boundaries of programmatic art and redefining immersive and virtual experiences.
The event showcases the newest technological innovations in both digital art and design development via an extensive virtual world fair bringing the modern art world into further alignment with the growing world of Web3.
This year’s event will include immersive art installations, multiple NFT exhibitions, panel talks and more.
