DeNA CEO Jumps To Thirdverse To Lead Web3 Strategy

Metaverse gaming pioneer signs up top social and IT CEO

In an important coup, Thirdverse, the leading virtual reality and Web3 game development and distribution company have secured the services of Isao Moriyasu – formerly the CEO of DeNa – as their new executive producer of Web3 games.

Isao Moriyasu dominated the mobile gaming market with his creation of the highly popular social mobile gaming platform Mobage and grew mobile gaming IT providers DeNA to a $6 billion market cap. Thirdverse plan that Moriyasu “will bring his experience to further Thirdverse’s growth strategy in the metaverse and Web3”.

While this is obviously big news for Thirdverse, it’s also an interesting endorsement of the metaverse (and more specifically Thirdverse’s vision of it) if such a high-profile exec with a proven track record in social and IT wants to work in the field.

Moriyasu will bring more than 20 years of experience in the technology and gaming industries to bear, helping to further drive Thirdverse’s growth in the metaverse and Web3.

Widening the world of immersive gaming

Moriyasu said: “Thirdverse is building a world-class company in the VR, Metaverse and Web3 markets. As more players discover the thrill of immersive gaming experiences, Thirdverse is uniquely positioned to serve these audiences with superior quality content. I look forward to applying my experience in the gaming industry to help Thirdverse continue its push for innovation.”

Thirdverse is dedicated to realizing a “VR x Metaverse” and has been developing VR games in Japan and the United States since 2020. In addition to its world-class VR game development capabilities, the company is partnering up with the likes of Animoca Brands to bring cutting-edge know-how in Web3.

Thirdverse is also currently promoting the “Thirdverse Plan”, aiming to create a “Third Space” in the virtual metaverse. Following the launch of the Swords of Gargantua VR game, the company has “several VR and blockchain projects in development.”
