The Bungie Foundation is celebrating the fourth anniversary of the Bungie Day Giving Festival, an online fundraising event that aims to celebrate Bungie community members’ generosity. From July 6th through July 23rd, the foundation will honour community members who support their charitable goals.
The Bungie Foundation has raised more than $18,500,000 for charity since it launched. Through supporting the event, anyone can positively impact the foundation’s three main charitable pillars, Children’s Well-being, Humanitarian Aid, and Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity.
The Bungie Day Giving Festival encourages streamers and donors to build a community and support each other’s causes. Donors can earn the new Heartful Shell Exotic Ghost, Blue Blood Cells emblem and Helium Hearts Exotic Emote during the event. In addition, donors can earn a set of five previously retired Bungie Day Emblems. The top ten fundraisers will receive a PlayStation Store game code of their choice from a select list of games.
Bungie Foundation Director Christine Edwards said, “Our community is truly unparalleled in the industry; their boundless enthusiasm and deep compassion forge an exceptional culture of giving. Having witnessed the profound impact of our initiatives, such as our work with Make-A-Wish, where we have the privilege to change a child’s life forever, it is evident that our collective efforts truly make a remarkable difference.”
New events for 2023
Bungie is adding two new events to this year’s Giving Festival. The Emblem Art Contest, which began June 28th, lets creatives design an emblem that could be featured in Destiny 2. Bungie will select a winner from a group of three finalists.
Beginning July 13th, the company plans to give away a special from Numskull Designs each day through July 19th. Prizes include a Witch Queen Statue, a Sony PlayStation game code bundle and a Signed Lightfall Collector’s Edition.
This year’s festival will also feature streamers including Saltagreppo and TheMavShow, who raise funds for The Bungie Foundation’s cause. A full schedule of participating streamers is available on the foundation’s Featured Streamers Page.
