Five Nights At Freddy’s Film First Full Trailer

Horror game goes Hollywood in new Blumhouse movie trailer starring Josh Hutcherson

Recently, we reported that Blumhouse is producing a film adaptation of the popular horror game, Five Nights at Freddy’s. Now, the movie’s first full-length trailer is available. The film stars Hunger Games’ Josh Hutcherson as a security guard working the night shift at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Also making an appearance in the film are Matthew Lillard (Scream), Kat Conner Sterling (We Have A Ghost), and Elizabeth Lail (You).

For those unfamiliar with the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise, the premise is relatively simple if strange. A security guard must survive the night shift at a pizza place full of killer animatronics. While this is the first film for the franchise, 2021’s Willy’s Wonderland, starring Nicholas Cage, clearly takes inspiration from the horror title.

Blumhouse shared the full-length trailer in a recent Tweet, stating, “When the night shift starts, the nightmare begins.”

Hutcherson Thrills in Five Nights at Freddy’s Trailer

The roughly two-and-a-half-minute Five Nights at Freddy’s trailer features Josh Hutcherson exploring the abandoned Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. After bringing his daughter Abby with him to the creepy Chuck-E.-Cheese-esque establishment, Hutcherson’s character learns that children went missing there in the 80s and that their spirits possess the animatronics. We even see a sneak peek of Mathew Lillard as a creepy career counselor sitting ominously behind a desk.

The screenplay was written by Emma Tammi, Scott Cawthon, and Seth Cuddeback. Tammi also directs the film, which will stream on Peacock and launch in theatres simultaneously on October 27th. Blumhouse is producing the movie with Striker Entertainment, with Cawthon and Jason Blum as its producers. Additionally, Jim Henson’s Creature Shop is creating Freddy and the other evil animatronics.

Games to Movies

Five Nights at Freddy’s is one of many games to get the Hollywood treatment of late. Horror series Silent Hill has a film reboot in the works. Similarly, Blumhouse is producing a Death by Daylight movie. Meanwhile, Amazon is working on a Fallout television series for Amazon Prime.
