PlayStation has announced its teaming up with Marvel to release a prequel comic to the upcoming game Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The new comic will be available for free tomorrow, May 6th, which is free comic book day.
US fans can get a free copy of the Spider-Man 2 prequel comic by visiting a participating comic store or downloading the digital version through the Marvel Unlimited App or Marvel.com.
Prequel Stars Miles, Peter and MJ
The Spider-Man 2 prequel comic catches fans up on what Peter Parker, MJ Watson and Miles Morales have been up to since the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Miles, Peter and MJ must team up to defeat a new supervillain whose powers are beyond their comprehension.
“When we initially sat down with the team at Marvel, we explored a few different ideas about what kinds of stories we could tell in a prequel comic,” writes PlayStation in a blog post. “But we kept coming back to the same core premise – what if Peter, Miles, and MJ had to team up against a new Super Villain whose powers they didn’t understand?”
As the three heroes attempt to balance their personal lives with their superhero responsibilities, they question whether magic is real. “Because in this action-packed issue,” states PlayStation. “A beloved supervillain makes their first appearance in our universe and appears to have supernatural abilities that defy mere webs and fists: none other than The Hood!”
