The Sandbox and Warner Music Group Kicks Off Virtual Release Party Spinnin’ Records

“Music, innovation and nurturing talent have always been the cornerstones of Spinnin’ Records”

The Sandbox, a decentralised gaming virtual world and subsidiary of Animoca Brands recently announced a collaboration with Warner Music Group. This was to hold a party in The Sandbox for Spinnin’ Records’ World’s Biggest Demo Drop (WBDD).

Spinnin’ Records, a global dance label organised the DJ talent and the party has been ongoing since January 26 2023. For the first time, tracks from this year’s winners will be released on Spinnin’ Records and will also become NFT products with LGND Music giving winners a new dimension for digital distribution.

The ongoing event in The Sandbox will feature music from each of the winning DJs. In addition to a virtual appearance by each DJ and NPCs that players can interact with.

Musical metaverse

“Music, innovation and nurturing talent have always been the cornerstones of Spinnin’ Records. Being able to combine these facets into one partnership makes for a perfect and authentic scenario for our music to thrive and undiscovered talent to be heard. We’re excited for people to discover and engage with our collaboration with LGND music, a leader in web3 music strategies, and our largest World’s Biggest Demo Drop ever” says Lesley Quist, Head of Design, and Steven de Graaf, Commercial Director.

The contest allows DJ talent around the globe to submit their best demos for the chance to win an official Spinnin’ Records or Musical Freedom release. Also, legendary DJ Tiësto is an official member of the jury while Mike Williams, Dutch DJ and record producer is serving as the event’s official ambassador.

This year’s event is taking place at Amsterdam Dance Event and has received more than 2,000 demos across the globe.

Although the event will conclude on February 8, 2023, both Spinnin’Records and The Sandbox will continue to work together on innovative community initiatives and integrations that’ll bring music into the metaverse.
