Warner Music Group Partners With Gamefam To Launch Rhythm City On Roblox

“…creating a new community for music lovers in the metaverse…”

Warner Music Group, a global music and entertainment company with a legacy that spans over 200 years has announced the launch of Rhythm City. A first-of-its-kind music-themed social roleplay experience on Roblox.

Developed in partnership with Gamefam, a gaming and content company across metaverse platforms, Rhythm City will introduce users to artists and music using social roleplay. It will also provide access to a collection of digital items that are sold exclusively on Roblox.

Oana Ruxandra, Chief Digital Officer & EVP, Business Development at WMG commented, “As our lives become increasingly digital, exciting opportunities are opening up for artists and fans to engage and interact. WMG is focused on facilitating the foundations of these new experiences by building and experimenting across evolving ecosystems. This partnership with Gamefam sees WMG creating a place for artists and audiences to come together to define and contextualise their communities within living spaces.”

Music in the metaverse

Both WMG and Gamefam will work together to create a unique experience for users that’ll bring together key gaming elements and music. Users can choose from multiple roles like a music producer, dancer, DJ and even bond with friends while having fun with mini-music challenges. WMG will also use Rhythm City to host virtual concerts and events featuring some of its artists.

“We are thrilled to have a chance to combine our passion for developing authentic, highly-engaging metaverse content with our love of music”, said Joe Ferencz, Founder and CEO at Gamefam. “WMG has been a brilliant partner in pushing innovative strategies. Together with our expertise, we’ve channelled that into production excellence creating a new community for music lovers in the metaverse.”

WMG is one of the behemoth brands that’s continuously building experiences in gaming and the nascent metaverse space through partnerships and unique events.

Rhythm City will be available later this week (February 4th) across Android, iOS, Mac, Windows PC, and Xbox One.
