TikTok User Shares Song Covers Played On Guitar In The Last of Us Part 2

Get ready to see Ellie perform Californication on her guitar

The Last of US Part II’s playable guitar feature is gaining recognition again thanks to a TikTok user sharing covers of songs they play in the game. TikTok user @EllieMillerSolos has shared covers of Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers and Metallica’s Nothing Else Matters, which have both received over 2 million views.

What is The Last of Us?

The Last of Us is a popular PlayStation-exclusive title centering around characters Joel and Ellie as they struggle with the day to day of surviving a zombie apocalypse. The title and its sequel were so well received that HBO is creating a live-action series that is due to debut in 2023. Ellie and Joel start as strangers, but bond on their journey as Joel attempts to bring Ellie to a rebel group that may be able to study her zombie infection immunity to create a cure. In The Last of Us Part 2, Ellie goes on a solo mission of vengeance. But players can also chill out and play the guitar between the vengence and bloodshed.

What truly makes these song covers impressive is the fact that the controls for the guitar in The Last of Us Part 2 aren’t very intuitive. Players need to cycle through various notes using the R1 and L1 buttons and swipe the touchpad on their controller to play the correct note. It’s far more difficult to master than it sounds and @EllieMillerSolos deserves all the credit they’re receiving for their masterful virtual guitar playing.

More upcoming video games

While 2022 was a poor game for console video game release, 2023 is looking bright. Wannabe Harry Potters are anxiously awaiting their letters to Hogwarts with Hogwarts Legacy, which releases in February 2023. Disney and Marvel are planning to release a slew of Marvel games in the coming months, including an Iron Man game and a Black Panther title. Additionally, a new Silent Hill game is in the works and for the first time, Creepshow is getting a game adaptation.
