Teleperformance Opening Esports Arena in Portugal

The company plans to host esports competitions for its employees

Teleperformance, a customer experience company,  unveiled its new Esports arena on May 27th. The arena, which was revealed during the company’s launch event and esports convention, will host private events and will act as a space for Teleperformance staff members to socialize and bond.

“Welcome to the Esports Arena – a fully “built from scratch” dedicated advanced space for gamers and esports fans to train, stream, watch and have fun with peers,” tweeted Teleperformance on May 27th. 

Esports for all

Esports most popular leagues include FIFA, League of Legends and Overwatch. Esports is a burgeoning market with interest growing exponentially during the pandemic. Several esports platforms, such as Ignite Tournament’s upcoming mobile play-to-earn esports tournament and streaming platform, are in the works. Likewise, Yesports has raised  $2.5 million for its esports platform.

The new esports arena was built within the Teleperformance office building in Lisbon, Portugal. Currently, the France-founded company has over 400,000 employees in  88 countries.

In addition to showcasing the esports facility, the launch event also included esports tournaments for Super Smash Bros., FIFA and Brawl Stars, as well as panels on esports and the metaverse. 

This new arena marks the company’s first foray into the esports industry. Currently, Teleperformance is planning to hold esports tournaments for its various offices in the state-of-the-art arena. In addition, the company aims to create its own esports team for FIFA in partnership with Expresso, a Portuguese media outlet.

Esports Updates

Lamborghini announced its plans to launch its own esports team in April 2022. In addition, the Italian government recently created an official esports federation to regulate tournaments. Esports is even getting its comedic debut with Players, a mockumentary following the exploits of a fictional league of legends esports team, coming to Paramount plus June 16th.
