Meta Horizon Worlds Unveils VR Concert Experience With Blackpink, iHeartRadio And Red Rocks

Meta is offering front-row seats to immersive music events in virtual reality

Meta has revealed the line of its immersive VR concerts coming to Horizon Worlds including K-Pop superstars Blackpink, Red Rock Series and iHeartRadio. Produced by The Diamond Bros in partnership with Meta, the shows will be both live and replayable.

Blackpink: A VR Encore was filmed at the Born Pink World Tour finale show at the Gocheok Sky Dome featuring hits like How You Like That, You & Me, Pink Venom and more. This 70-minute concert special was captured and produced specifically for VR, offering a first-person experience that transports users to the heart of Seoul, South Korea.

“We’re thrilled to embrace the dynamic world of VR because it allows us to reach an even wider global audience and share our music in an entirely new, immersive way,” Blackpink says. “This VR concert is not just a show; it’s an extension of the tour we poured our hearts into. We can’t wait for you to see the magic we’ve created with The Diamond Bros and Meta, and thank you to our incredible BLINKs for your endless support.”

New ways to experience music

As a user joins the vibrant crowd, they’ll experience the energy of a live Blackpink performance, complete with dazzling visuals, captivating choreography and their signature blend of K-pop hits.

Meta’s VP of Metaverse Vishal Shah said, “Artists like Blackpink are transforming how music fans experience performances and connect with their favorite artists. We’re excited to feature this creative, social VR experience from The Diamond Bros in Horizon Worlds and can’t wait for Meta Quest owners to take a front-row seat for this amazing show.”

Red Rocks will also be live in VR next month, allowing a fan to sing alongside 10,000 other superfans from Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The band’s current schedule will see them perform on December 18th (Alison Wonderland) at 5:00 pm PT with Louis the Child taking the stage on December 30th at 5:00 pm PT.

Blackpink: A VR Encore will debut in VR on December 26th at 5:00 pm PT. Fans can RSVP to the event and start planning their avatar’s concert day look. And if they miss the premiere, they can catch the replay throughout the next month. All of the concerts will be available for free in Music Valley, a bespoke desert oasis in Horizon Worlds where it’s festival season all year long.
