Canva Introduces New AI Platform Magic Studio

All-in-one generative artificial intelligence platform promises to simplify content creation and generates short videos from text prompts

Canva is launching Magic Studio, a platform that lets creators access all their AI needs in one place. According to Canva, Magic Studio is geared toward the vast majority of users who may lack complex design skills. The company states that the new features will redefine what creators make and how they create.

Magic Design is a feature that turns a creator’s ideas into art instantly. Creators can input a text prompt or upload media. Magic Design then creates a personalised design based on the prompt. In addition to image generation, Magic Design can also edit videos and media into a cohesive video. The user simply tells the tool what type of video they want, and Magic Design will create it, offer music recommendations, and time the content to the chosen song using Beat Sync. Magic Studio’s design tool can also help users create presentations using a simple prompt.

Canva’s Magic Studio also features a Magic Media tool that allows users to generate short videos from text prompts or Canva images. Additionally, users can access AI image generation apps, such as DALL·E or Imagen, within Canva via the app marketplace.

Magic Animate lets users quickly animate their designs with a simple click. The tool streamlines transition and reflects the creator’s brand’s personality in the video generated.

“You can say goodbye to manually selecting and positioning animations and transitions in your design. Instead, use Magic Animate to add them to your design instantly – no skills or special software required,” writes Canva.

Magic Studio also features Magic Write, Canva’s writing assistant, which it launched in 2022. With a simple text prompt, Magic Write can generate a first draft or expand a text. Additionally, the tool can quickly summarise content and help to increase a writer’s output. The new version of Magic Write includes a voice feature to help writers determine whether the piece fits their brand’s personality and tone.
