Decentraland now has AI NPCs, thanks to an integration with the AI character platform, Inworld. Creators can now add AI-powered NPCs to their scenes. With AI NPCs, users can have dynamic conversations. Inworld allows creators to easily create NPC personality traits, identities and knowledge bases. The creator simply describes the character in natural language and Inworld Studio generates it.
The platform believes AI NPCs could be used in education as well as gaming. Three AI NPCs, Simone, Aisha and Dodge, were added to Decentraland in July. These NPCs respond to users with both text and audio, each with their own personality and speaking style. Simone is an energetic robot with a positive attitude who has begun to question their existence and the reality of the metaverse. Aisha is a streamer with a daring spirit and a deep wealth of gaming knowledge. However, the new AI NPCs are just the beginning.
Decentraland Hosts AI World Fair
The AI World Fair is happening in October and Decentraland will be the official online headquarters for the three-day event. Running from October 25th to 27th, the event was put together by Verse Digital and Metaverse Land Company.
“As we partnered closely with Innovation City and Metaverse Land Company to develop Sophia the Robot’s Sophiaverse Headquarters, we all believe that the Metaverse needs an AI conference,” says Verse Digital founder and CEO Justin Edwards. “Decentraland has been busy developing its own AI capabilities, so we were eager to work with Sam Hamilton and the team to devise a compelling program of talks and exhibits.”
The AI World Fair will feature keynote and panel sessions with AI experts, as well as virtual headquarters and booths for AI brands. Additionally, visitors can take advantage of free airdrops and receive digital collectibles during the event. Decentraland users can also participate in a Learn & Earn initiative through which they’ll be awarded for attending and participating in the AI World Fair.
