Filipino fashion designer Michael Cinco is bringing his acclaimed designs to the Philippine Blockchain Week (PBW) in the country’s first-ever Metaverse Fashion Gala where attendees can experience the next evolution of haute couture. The event will be held on September 18th at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Newport World Resorts Manila, and it promises to redefine how audiences see digital fashion.
Cinco’s designs have been worn by royalty and celebrities alike and for the fashion designer, an opportunity to break ground in a new medium was irresistible. “Fashion has always been about redefining barriers, and right now, there’s no bigger barrier than taking what’s physical into the digital. I’m excited to be partnering with PBW, and even more excited for everyone to see what we have planned,” Cinco said.
Showcasing digital fashion
At the gala, collectors will have the opportunity to see Cinco’s signature pieces up close, while the runway models’ avatars will be shown wearing the same outfits in the metaverse. Also, fashion collectors will have the opportunity to purchase their favourite pieces from the Metaverse Fashion Gala through an exclusive pre-sale.
PBW delegates will be treated to an exhibit of Michael Cinco gowns, which will be displayed throughout the PBW venue. This is an opportunity for fashion-forward fans to see Cinco’s designs in person and get inspired by his style.
Event convener Chezka Gonzales said that the partnership with Michael Cinco is a sign of how blockchain technology is changing the world. “Philippine Blockchain Week isn’t just about technology – it’s about showcasing how blockchain technology can complement creative professionals at the top of their field,” said Gonzales.
Money raised from the Michael Cinco Metaverse Fashion Gala will go towards helping endangered species through the World Wildlife Fund as well as the Global Reskilling Movement to help youths get better opportunities.
Tickets for the Michael Cinco Metaverse Fashion Gala are now available on the PBW official website.
