Web3 creator platform and virtual world ZTX has closed its $13 million seed round led by Jump Crypto. The investments in ZTX reflect the market’s recognition of the project’s potential within Web3.
The team also has several advantages, thanks in part to the more than 400 million lifetime users of its legacy Web2 business ZEPETO. In terms of active user metrics, ZTX says ZEPETO stands as the world’s fourth-largest metaverse platform, just behind Roblox, Fortnite, and Minecraft. The platform also boasts of numerous strategic partnerships with brands like Gucci, Starbucks, and the K-Pop girl group Blackpink.
Chris Jang, co-CEO of ZTX says, “We have been building steadily and discreetly for well over a year, and with our token launch happening in the coming months we want to emphasise the commitment that our investors, just like our team, have toward our vision to provide an infrastructure layer to creators.”
Encouraging broad adoption of Web3
The ZTX team plans to use its existing resources to help promote the broader use and adoption of Web3 by global audiences. Notable investors also included Collab+Currency, Parataxis, MZ Web3 Fund, Everest Ventures Group and others.
“We believe that ZTX has the potential to create a unique world, setting it apart from all other Web3 metaverse projects. The seamless integration of digital asset creation and trading in the metaverse with Web3 technology is truly exciting, making their application within Web3 applications a natural fit,” said Yuki Kanayama, general partner of MZ Web3 Fund.
Experienced professionals from Apple, Roblox, Epic, and EA, as well as experts from Cosmos, Flow, Solana, and other Web3 communities are collaborating at ZTX to strive towards enhancing Web3 infrastructure for creators within immersive 3D environments.
