Unveiled at THQ Nordic Digital Showcase 2023 was the upcoming game, South Park Snow Day. Starring Kenny, Cartman, Kyle and Stan, the game centres around the magical and memorable experience of a day off from school due to snow.

THQ Nordic announced the game by showcasing a teaser trailer for the game. While only a minute long, the trailer shows one significant change from the franchise’s preceding games. South Park Snow Day features 3D graphics.
“It’s a snow day,” says Cartman in the teaser trailer. “The most magical of days in a young child’s life.”
A Quick History of South Park Video Games
The first South Park video game, South Park, was released in 1998 for the Nintendo 64. The game was followed by titles such as South Park Rally and the rather anticlimactic trivia game South Park: Chef’s Luv Shack. However, series creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker struck gold with the release of South Park: The Stick of Truth in 2014. A 2D turn-based RPG, Stick of Truth embodied the spirit of the crude comedy, while also offering gameplay that appealed to gamers. Its sequel South Park: The Fractured But Whole, was equally successful. Since its release nearly seven years ago, fans have been anticipating the next title in the franchise.
In South Park Snow Day, up to four players will journey on a quest to save the world on a snow day. Few details concerning the game have been released. However, according to the developer, the game will be a four-player co-op title. Whether players will play as one of the series’ four main characters or reprise the player role of the new kid from the previous titles was not addressed. However, at the end of the trailer, we hear Cartman say, “Hey. Hey new kid. It’s a snow day, dude.” This seems to indicate that playing as the new kid will at least be an option. Fans can expect South Park Snow Day to release in 2024.
