The internationally renowned British Museum has teamed up with The Sandbox to take its first steps into the metaverse. The partnership will allow Sandbox users to discover world history through a new immersive experience. Users can also create a range of digital collectables that reflect some of the collections of the Museum since it was established in 1753.
As one of the first public national museums in the world, the British Museum is dedicated to bringing its vision of being a museum of the world and for the world into the metaverse.
By collaborating with the museum, The Sandbox is focused on providing users with new immersive experiences that will allow them to explore select objects from the collections of the British Museum from anywhere across the globe.
Together with LaCollection, the British Museum’s licensing partner, the collaboration centres on creating digital collectables and experiences that showcase the rich history of the museum.
