Honda Aims To Innovate Motorsport Fan Engagement With Web3 Partnerships

The collaboration with Gryfyn and Animoca Brands leverages the blockchain for digital experiences, assets and interactions

Motorsport giants Honda Motor Co has partnered with Fortune Crypto 40 company Animoca Brands Japan and custodial crypto wallet provider Gryfyn to enhance fan engagement across Honda’s various racing initiatives and communities.

The collaboration leverages blockchain technology as well as Gryfyn’s wallet platform to create interactive experiences for fans, kicking things off with the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio last weekend. Indy 200 attendees experienced an activation that offers complimentary Honda merchandise and gifts, courtesy of Gryfyn. The collaboration aims to transform fan engagement within Honda’s diverse motorsport initiatives and communities.

The partnership will go on to enhance the motorsport experience for Honda fans by offering exclusive digital and physical prizes through an innovative fan engagement program.

During the platform’s public launch in March, Arnoldo Concepción CEO of Gryfyn said, “We want to connect people to new experiences. Gryfyn is a digital passport that connects anyone anywhere with their favourite experiences, whether it’s in games, sports, music, education, transportation or anything else. We’re really excited to onboard the mass market to great and secure Web3 experiences.”

Custodial crypto

Gryfyn is a joint venture between Animoca Brands and Hex Trust that offers a custodial crypto wallet to enable users to access digital experiences, manage digital assets and connect with their favourite brands.

Following a successful soft launch at Hong Kong Fintech Week in November last year, Gryfyn has signed on global partners and will be rolling out new features and activation events throughout this year.

Animoca Brands Japan, a strategic subsidiary of Animoca Brands, is aiming to be at the forefront of digital entertainment, blockchain, and gamification. Their mission is to drive the progress of digital property rights and play a key role in establishing the open metaverse.
