Video game developer CD Projekt Red has partnered with Futuregames Warsaw to promote, support and work collectively to expand access to education in different fields of the videogame industry.
Originally from Sweden, Futuregames is a game dev academy that offers an entire range of different types of education at various levels. From short courses for experienced professionals to full-time programs for aspiring game developers that are just getting started.
Futuregames’ new branch in Warsaw, backed by CD Projekt, will provide courses in game programming, design and art. The lessons will be conducted in English and on-site in Warsaw. It’ll also be accessible to EU citizens and students holding valid visas.
Expanding opportunities
The first courses will commence in September this year, with Futuregames Warsaw attendees getting to create a total of four games using professional-grade game dev software and hardware. Attendees will be provided with the tools they need to create and will retain full ownership of the games they make.
With CD Projekt’s participation, Futuregames Warsaw will offer a 50% discount on tuition fees to all students during the first year of the partnership. Futuregames will also provide the nine highest performing students with Futuregames scholarships as well as 30 weeks of internship to course participants at CD Projekt Red, the company behind acclaimed video games like The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077.
With nearly 25 years of experience, Futuregames has been ranked as one of the best game industry education providers in the world. In addition to CD Projekt, Futuregames is also working with other studios including Ubisoft, EA DICE, Avalanche Studios, Epic Games, King and more.
The enrollment process is currently underway and you can apply via the official website.
