Warner Music Group To Publish Its First Video Game, Invector: Rhythm Galaxy

The game’s soundtrack includes songs by Duran Duran, PinkPantheress and Charlie Puth

Global music and entertainment brand Warner Music Group is about to publish a video game for the first time, partnering with Swedish game studio Hello There Games . Invector: Rhythm Galaxy is a narrative-driven rhythm title that will be available for PC on July 14th. The game’s soundtrack features 40 hit songs from various musical genres featuring songs by Duran Duran, PinkPantheress and Charlie Puth, among others.

According to the Warner Music Group, publishing its first game illustrates its commitment to, ‘Delivering thrilling, interactive experiences that take the musical experience beyond sound.’

“This venture into gaming showcases our commitment to reimagining the boundaries of music and how it is defined by artists and fans alike within our evolving ecosystem,” says Oana Ruxandra, Warner Music Group’s chief digital officer and EVP of business development. “Invector: Rhythm Galaxy intertwines the power of music with the interaction of gaming to build active, immersive experiences for fans and new revenue streams for WMG’s artists.”

Hello There Games previously developed 2019’s AVICII Invector, a critically acclaimed rhythm title. Warner Music Group aims to make Invector: Rhythm Galaxy accessible and appealing to fans of various music genres. The company is leveraging its vast catalogue of popular music to do so.

Journey Through Songs in Invector: Rhythm Galaxy

In the game, players will journey through song and space as they fly through cosmic environments. Invector: Rhythm Galaxy includes a solo player mode, as well as 2-player and 4-player local multiplayer allowing players to compete.
