After announcing weeks ago that he was in search of someone to lead Twitter, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced Linda Yaccarino as the new chief executive officer of Twitter.
Musk tweeted, “I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter!,” he said. Adding that Yaccarino, “Will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology.”
In October 2022, Musk became the CEO of Twitter after acquiring the company for $44 billion. However, in December that same year, he announced his intention to relinquish his position as CEO once he finds a suitable candidate to take over, stating that the new CEO would have to be “foolish enough” to take the job.

Anonymously speaking, a Silicon Valley executive and a former Hollywood executive revealed to Reuters that Yaccarino may be Musk’s preferred candidate to assume the leadership of Twitter, following his tweet.
Yaccarino who is the top advertising sales executive at NBC Universal interviewed Musk at an advertising conference in Miami last month where she urged the audience to applaud the Twitter owner.

In responding to her new role, Yaccarino took to Twitter to thank Musk for the job, “I’ve long been inspired by your vision to create a brighter future. I’m excited to help bring this vision to Twitter and transform this business together!”
