The first episode of Binance‘s new digital series, Build The Block will be available tomorrow, May 12th. On the show, Web3 startups compete for financing from Binance Labs. According to Binance, Build The Block is the first show format of its kind.
The show was created by the company’s in-house Web3 creative studio. Build the Block takes place in the metaverse using virtual cameras and avatars. The series was produced in partnership with leading technology solution provider for Web3 virtual human avatars, Lifeform.
“Build The Block is Binance’s latest innovative experiment – creating the industry’s first metaverse investment competition. This program has attracted many entrepreneurs and builders alike to showcase their Web3 projects and we hope a platform like this encourages others to innovate even further,” says Yi He, co-founder of Binance and head of Binance Labs. “We believe in the potential of the metaverse and blockchain technology and will continue to empower creators to build the future of internet together.”
The show’s panel of judges will include Yi He, co-founder and CMO of Binance and head of Binance Labs, CEO of Animoca Brands Robby Yung and Coin Bureau co-founder Guy Turner. Additionally, Asia’s Got Talent’s Justin Bratton will host the show.
Build the Block Contestants
The show will feature 12 Web3 projects competing to impress the judges and the virtual studio audience. The company chose the contestants from more than 900 applicants. Contestants include the third-person Hero Shooter game The Harvest, Mind Network, an encryption network built on a patented Adaptive Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) framework, and blockchain platform Ontropy. Web3 security extension Wallet Guard and Web3 payment company PIP which specialises in developing innovative payment products for individual users, are also among Build the Block’s contestants.
The series premieres tomorrow, May 12th on the Binance YouTube channel.
