New Advisory Board To Drive Innovation In In-Car Gaming

AirConsole says, ‘We are confident that we have a good chance of revolutionising the in-car gaming industry’

Fast-growing Swiss start-up, AirConsole, has revealed its expansion plans for creating a gaming advisory board composed of senior gaming industry experts.

After partnering with BMW in 2022, AirConsole is getting set for its in-car gaming journey. The startup recently hired Antti Makkonen, ex-Rovio and Scopely, as director of games as well as announcing that it’ll work with BMW to launch a competition to develop games that’ll give players the in-car experience.

Anthony Cliquot, CEO of AirConsole said, “This is a truly exciting moment for AirConsole! We are thrilled to welcome such highly successful individuals to our game advisory board, and we strongly believe that their invaluable insights and network will play a vital role in shaping the future of in-car gaming.”

Building a team of experts

Kim Nordstrom, who was previously chief strategy officer at Paradox Interactive, will lead the advisory board alongside Michael Fuller, former VP of global digital business development at Hasbro.

Ignacio Monereo, an active investor in the gaming industry who was previously head of gaming creators at Meta has also joined the AirConsole team as an angel investor and partner in the new VC fund Boost Capital Partners.

“With the expertise and experience of our newly formed advisory board, we are confident that we have a good chance of revolutionising the in-car gaming industry and creating innovative and exciting gaming experiences for our players,” said Nordstrom.

Take part in the competition

In a move to further tap into the potential of the global game developer community, both BMW and AirConsole are holding a competition where developers can submit their ideas and concepts from now until June 8th, 2023 via the official website.

The best four concepts will be chosen as winners and will be rewarded with 5,000 euros for the development of a prototype.

Upon creating a successful prototype, AirConsole will not only fund the development of the game and include it in its platform, but will also invite winners to the BMW Group HQ in Munich to see the result in real-time and witness the action.
