The Sandbox, a decentralised gaming virtual world and subsidiary of Animoca Brands has announced a partnership with ZeptoLab, the gaming company behind games like Cut the Rope, CATS: Crash Arena Turbo Stars, King of Thieves and Bullet Echo.
The partnership will bring new experiences to the metaverse by creating a new space and Web3 engagement by utilising ZeptoLab’s community and entertaining experiences. Digital collectables based on true ownership will also be released.
“We are thrilled to welcome ZeptoLab to The Sandbox,” said Sebastien Borget, COO and Co-Founder of The Sandbox. “I look forward to seeing all the creations the Cut the Rope community will build in the metaverse using collectible digital items that they can truly own.”
Building out its metaverse platform
The new LAND created by ZeptoLab will see players managing the Om Nom Cafe in the city of Nomville. Players can serve customers of the themed café in an arcade management game based on the company’s intellectual property.
In addition to Om Nom Café, both ZeptoLab and The Sandbox will also develop digital collectables, building on the model created around the Nommies from Cut the Rope 2 and the Ancestors from Cut the Rope: Time Travel, including accessories and equipment to customise avatars.
The Sandbox is one of the decentralised virtual worlds that’s making big progress in seeing the nascent metaverse space come to life with more than 400 partners including companies and brands such as Warner Music Group, Ubisoft, The Rabbids, Tony Hawk and Gucci Vault.
