The British Esports In Education Summit Returns In 2023

The event is hoping to surpass its record number of attendees from last year and will be held at the Confetti Institute in Nottingham

British esports has announced the return of its annual Esports in Education Summit. This follows a record-high attendance for the event held in 2022.

The Esports in Education Summit is set to take place on February 10th, 2023. Tickets are currently available for those who wish to attend, these tickets are for physical attendance, however, the event will be hybrid with online tickets being released soon.

Last year’s event saw record attendance with over 300 registered attendees, these represented 170+ unique institutions from over 20 countries. The British Esports in Education Summit will now be marking its fifth successive year.

Esports Summit

The event this year will be taking place earlier than its usual summertime scheduling and will be hosted at the Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies’ new £5m dedicated sports complex in Nottingham. The new 14,000 sq ft venue has previously played host to the Commonwealth Esports Championships Qualification and British Esports amateur grassroots tournament, the Student Champs.

The summit is aimed at the education sector of the industry, designed for senior leaders, curriculum managers, lecturers and educational institutions. In addition, those from amateur and professional organisations will gather to discuss the impact, developments, and opportunities which are available in competitive gaming. The event this year will have additional features from previous years including a Student Champs Showmatch. A brand new networking event will also accompany the range of keynotes and panel discussions.

Kalam Neale, head of education at British Esports commented that, “I’m really excited to welcome colleagues and peers from across esports education to the 2023 Education Summit. Whether new to esports education or a seasoned veteran. The Summit provides unrivalled industry insight and first-hand exposure to the current state of esports and education in the UK. This is a great opportunity to network and connect with esports educators and other industry leaders.”

The confirmed lineup of featured speakers is intended to be announced in the upcoming weeks. The esports sector is still growing and shows great potential for the future. India is looking to expand its esports growth and has goals to become an integral hub for esports.
