Gayming Awards 2023 Nominees Have Been Revealed

God of War Ragnarök and Elden Ring are nominated for Game of the Year

The nominees for the Gayming Awards 2023 have been revealed. Organized by UK-based online LGBTQ video gaming magazine Gayming Magazine, the awards celebrate LGBTQ+ games and streamers.

“I’m thrilled by the amazing lineup of nominees this year. It’s a real testament to the work in the LGBTQ+ indie game space that two of the three games leading the way with nominations this year are indies. I also love the amount of diversity on show from trans-led stories, impactful characters, and developers from all around the world,” says Gayming Awards founder Robin Gray. “A huge congratulations to everyone and I can’t wait to see who takes home the Awards in April.”

There are 12 awards, with nominees for the Gayming Icon and LGBTQ+ Streamer Rising Star Class of ’23 awards to be revealed in April. Nominees for the Game of the Year Gayming Award are Cult of the Lamb, Elden Ring, Arcade Spirits: The New Challengers and God of War Ragnarök. The public has nominated Cult of the Lamb, Disney Dreamlight Valley, Elden Ring, Ghostwire Tokyo, Horizon Forbidden West, Stray, Tunic and Wylde Flowers for the 2023 Gayming Magazine Readers’ Award.

Exciting Games on the Way

Overall, 2022 wasn’t the best year for video games, with Xbox seeing a 7 percent year-on-year decline in revenue. Luckily, however, 2023 is looking brighter for the games market. The highly anticipated Harry Potter-inspired title, Hogwarts Legacy, launches in February, as does the upcoming FPS action RPG Atomic Heart. Additionally, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will release in May.
