The Gran Turismo Vision project has seen various car manufacturers come forward and dive into the world of gaming to create a car that represents the brand without any of the real-world constraints, the latest in the line-up is a car designed by Ferrari.
This partnership has seen Ferrari step up to “design a rendition of the ideal GT” and the result was recently revealed at the 2022 world finals in Monaco. Ferrari’s creation is a single-seater beauty that sports an extreme version of the V6 engine that powers the new Ferrari 499P hypercar that will be showcased at Le Mans next year.
The V6 Ferrari has an aerodynamic futuristic look, with a rear wing, diffuser, and air vents on the wheel arches which are designed to give the car as much downforce as possible. Jumping inside the car is a driver-focused experience with just the single seat and high-tech, transparent materials which mirror the exterior design and allows for the complex design of the steering wheel components to be on display.
The future of Ferrari
Design director for Ferrari, Flavio Manzoni commented on the project saying, “The collaboration with Gran Turismo represented a possibility of giving life to a unique project that was developed within the Advanced Design department of our Styling Centre. We wanted to create a vision of the future designed without constraint, but born from Ferrari’s unrivalled understanding of engineering, aerodynamics, and future technologies, and deliver it into the digital world for a whole new audience to experience.”
Manzoni went on to say, “With such freedom, designing the Ferrari Vision GT allowed us to create a style manifesto for the future of the marque; explore new languages and push the boundaries in all areas to produce a totally unique vehicle that we are confident the Gran Turismo™ audience and all Ferraristi will enjoy”.
The latest vision creation will be available to all players of the game from December 23. One lucky winner will also be chosen from a special in-game campaign quiz to receive the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo as a gift as early as December 15. This latest design should prove popular among fans, spray this baby black and you have yourself a batmobile contender.
