Game7, a Web3 gaming Decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) supported by BitDAO and Forte ecosystems has launched a $100 million grants program to accelerate Web3 gaming.
The program will allow developers to build tools, create educational programs, perform research and even host events that’ll make the Web3 video game industry more accessible and diverse.
Game7 core contributor Ronen Kirsh commented, “Improving smart contract standards, tooling, interoperable wallets, and scaling solutions will be crucial on the path to global adoption of Web3 games. We have allocated 20% of our committed treasury to fund each of these crucial components so the gaming industry can focus on building sustainable game economies.”
The $100 million grant will be deployed over the next five years at $20 million per year. Each grant will be allocated toward Web3 gaming projects across five categories including technology, events, diversity, education, and research.
Jon Allen, a BitDAO representative stated, “We believe this new model of games within a world where users and developers are aligned, has the potential to grant greater distribution of equity and ownership.”
The overall number of active blockchain games has doubled in the last year and Game7’s grant program is aimed at bringing the global community together and leading the transition from the current status quo to a new, prosperous meta-world.
The program is cross-chain and inclusive in nature with support from the Polygon, Solana, Immutable and Arbitrum ecosystems, with plans to expand even more over the coming months.
