Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding has amassed more than 10 million players on its third anniversary after it was launched in late 2019.
These latest figures are a combination of every platform that the game is available on including subscription services.
The game’s director Kojima took to Twitter to share the news with a beautifully designed rainbow cake as he thanked the entire team behind the game’s success for the work they’ve put in to bring an apocalyptic version of the United States to life in Death Stranding.

Kojima rose to fame after the Metal Gear Solid game series during his time with Konami. Death Stranding marked the developers’ first game after splitting with Konami in 2015.
Kojima Productions is also set to return with a Death Stranding sequel after the game’s protagonist Sam Bridges played by The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus revealed that a sequel is currently in production. However, Kojima himself is yet to confirm or deny the news.
Death Stranding is currently available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
