Game designer Yoshiki Okamoto joins Creta as a partner and advisor

The industry veteran plans to offer advice on future directions and has made personal investments

Acclaimed video game designer and producer, Yoshiki Okamoto is joining metaverse gaming platform Creta as a strategic partner and investor.

The partnership deal will see the beginning of a new collaboration, which not only includes guidance but also a personal investment as Okamoto has acquired a “hefty” amount of Creta tokens as well as over 25,000 square metres of land in the form of an NFT. The company hopes that with the aid of Okamoto’s insight and industry experience, inspiration will be sparked for a new direction in content for Creta.

Okamoto has an extensive gaming background with recent mobile success for his mobile title Monster Strike which has accumulated over $10 billion in sales to date. As for previous successes, Okamoto is known for work that goes back to working on popular game titles for Konami such as Gyruss and Time Pilot. After his time with Konami, the next stop was Capcom where he worked on games such as Street Fighter II and Resident Evil

An experienced partner

Okamoto commented on the new partnership and the shared ideals for the future saying, “The Creta team have demonstrated they are extremely capable of bringing fresh ideas into Web3 gaming, which has so far shown lackluster gameplay and tokenomics design. I am delighted with the vision of the team and their ability to execute and can’t wait to see the full version of the metaverse platform as well as the games currently undergoing production. It’s been a great honour to come on board as a partner to this project, which prioritises building games that are fun to play above everything else”.

Creta notes that this is just one of many notable events happening as they have also been expanding the European unit of Creta to strengthen operations and their ongoing collaboration with YGG japan aims to invigorate the Web3 gaming community. Creta also has its upcoming launch of the NFT-RPG game Kingdom Under Fire: The Rise to look forward to.
