Anthony Hopkins To Launch His First NFTs

The Eternal Collection will feature Hopkins portraying 10 of the Jungian characters

Sir Anthony Hopkins, the famed actor known for his iconic portrayal of Hannibal Lecter, is launching his first NFT collection on September 16. The Oscar and Golden Globe winner is partnering with Orange Comet on the upcoming collection, which will launch on OpenSea.

“NFTs are a blank canvas to create art,” Hopkins told nftnow.com. “At first, I was nervous [about creating them], but you’ve got to get on with it.”

Orange Comet CEO Dave Broome said, “When Margam Fine Art approached us with the artistic vision to bring Sir Anthony Hopkins’ artwork to the metaverse, we knew this was a unique opportunity for the world of NFTs. “This relationship is a superb symbiosis of technology and art from one of the finest actors and artists of our day.”

The Eternal Collection

Dubbed The Eternal Collection, the NFTs feature hyper-realistic images of Anthony Hopkins as various Jungian character archetypes. Each image takes inspiration from a character he has portrayed. Each piece in the collection offers a 35 to 45-second animation. While there are 12 Jungian character archetypes, The Eternal Collection only consists of ten, excluding the everyman and the innocent archetypes. Of course, it’s hard to imagine the acclaimed actor donning the everyman archetype.

Hopkins told nft now that the archetype he most identifies with is the rebel. “I’ve been a rebel my entire life,” Hopkins said. “I’ve always been an outsider. I feel some other author wrote the story of my life.”

The Eternal Collection includes three drops of Hopkins as character archetypes and the images will feature parts of Hopkins’s painted pieces. A hundred PFP variants will release for each of the 10 Jungian archetype animations. Additionally, Orange Comet plans to auction off a unique NFT that includes all 10 animations within one piece.

Each NFT purchase entitles owners to specific additional content depending on which piece they buy. Such bonuses include autographed prints of the NFT purchased, exclusive audio of Hopkins discussing the character archetypes and even an exclusive brunch with the actor himself.

Celebrities in Web3 Space

NFTs have certainly captured the interest of the Hollywood Elite. Ja Rule is launching the Black is Beautiful NFT collection. The rapper will donate $25,000 to historically black universities once the collection sells. In April, Snoop Dog released the first metaverse music video in the Sandbox, while Paris Hilton recently partnered with the metaverse platform.
