Prime Gaming Ultimate Showdown Is Amazon’s Biggest Esports Event Yet

Watch eSports giants compete across multiple games to find one true winner. (And win merch while doing so.)

Amazon has announced that its Amazon Prime Gaming Ultimate Showdown is going to be a $50,000 tournament that’ll bring together multiple titles into a grand finale at TwitchCon in 2022.

The behemoth company has been expanding its horizons into gaming and based on scale and size, this is scheduled to be Amazon’s biggest eSports event to date. It has multiple games in development as well as further integration with Twitch, which has helped Amazon Prime Gaming to become what’s increasingly becoming a bonafide gaming giant.

Welcome to the showdown

APG is expanding with a brand-new type of multi-game tournament for eSports. The Prime Gaming Ultimate Showdown will be covering various types of games, from MMOs to FPS games to provide an eSports experience that spans everything that gaming has to offer.

The tournament will commence with four pre-qualifying rounds that’ll be held in Seattle, Germany, Japan and Amsterdam. The qualifiers be a global competition and competitors will be winning prizes for competing while also raising money for charity. These pre-qualifying rounds will secure the top five players a spot at the Grand Finale.

The Prime Gaming Ultimate Showdown Finale will then be held at TwitchCon in San Diego, as a live event, bringing together the teams from around the globe.

Prime Gaming Ultimate Showdown Calendar

The tournament will run across the remainder of 2022 and below are all the events in the Prime Gaming Ultimate Showdown:

• Seattle Pre-Qualifier at Showbox SoDo – June 25

• Amsterdam Pre Qualifier – July 16-17

• Japan Pre-Qualifier at Tokyo Game Show – September 15-18

• Grand Finale at TwitchCon – October 7-9

As of now, we don’t have the complete details that state the games that are going to be played at the various events. However, every round will be broadcast on Twitch.

There will also be loot drops across broadcasts which will allow fans to win games and other gaming gear by watching the event.
