Artificial Ink Is A New Comic Book Made With AI Art

The publisher says, ‘Bringing together all of these books to showcase the evolution of this emerging form of comic book represents a significant milestone’

Meet Artificial Ink magazine’s premiere issue, which features previews of more than 40 comic books and graphic novels that were visualised with AI art. The issue also comes with a gallery as well as articles for individuals who are interested in creating comic books using AI.

Walter Fuego, publisher of Artificial Ink and AlComicBooks said, “The text-to-image technology now enables millions of people to visualize worlds, characters, and places that simply could not be done before.

“Bringing together all of these books to showcase the evolution of this emerging form of comic book represents a significant milestone.”

Embracing AI Art

As aforesaid, Artificial Ink’s magazine features up to 40 comic books and graphics novels but readers can also enjoy a ‘how to’ article as well as an interview with ChatGPT.

“The collection features the earliest books, which had a more impressionistic style because of the limitations of the initial versions, as well as the latest books that skillfully combine striking graphics with captivating narratives.” Fuego continued.

Late last year, AlComicBooks was established to support creators who use text-to-image technology to visualize their stories. And although it seems the site is embracing AI art, many artists have shown their dislike towards the nascent, yet popular technology.

Recently, the US Copyright Office has also said that it will consider making AI-generated work copyrightable as long as a person can prove that they put in a significant amount of creative effort in creating the content.
